The society is for all people who are enthusiastic about electronic organ music whether it is playing or just the simple enjoyment of listening to the music. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm for a concert which we are pleased to say attracts some of the top names in professional organ recital.
2009 was a special year for the society as it celebrated 40 years of good quality music and entertainment Around a hundred members and visitors celebrated the 40th anniversary on Tuesday July 14th 2009 when Andrew Nix entertained us for the evening on his Roland Atelier AT900C. The wide range of music included medleys from Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, The Beatles, Mamma Mia and songs from Bette Midler all of which were interspersed with his lively and entertaining banter. `March of the Cobblers’, from `Brassed Off’ and an Irish Medley added variety to the programme.
The chairperson of the society Pam Jackson, who is herself a former professional player with vast experience, is well known in the music world though some may recognise her as Pam Hammond. It is her ability to attract the very best players to the society’s concerts that ensures they are a real feast of entertainment for everyone.
With great music, tea/coffee and a licenced bar available during the interval also an inexpensive raffle. Members and guests can look forward to a night out to remember.
A warm welcome awaits you - as a member or visitor
